Preserving Diversity in The Manuscripts of Pangeran Madrais

Kuningan, DREAMSEA – The last mission to be executed in 2018 is the preservation of the manuscripts written by Pangeran Madrais in Kuningan, Indonesia. The target of this mission is to preserve at least 13.760 manuscript pages which will be done from 12 to 31 October 2018. The mission is supervised by Dr. Tedi Permadi, a philologist and codicologist from Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. “This mission is done in stages. Preserving 8,775 Palm Leaf Manuscripts in Lao PDR

DREAMSEA, Luang Prabang – The mission to preserve Southeast Asian manuscripts is continued on Mainland Southeast Asia. From September to December 2018 DREAMSEA will be digitising a large number of manuscripts from a monastery in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic. The mission is done under the leadership of Dr. Khamvone Boulyaphonh, The Director of The Buddhist Archives of Luang Prabang. A 6.5 Meter Long Indramayu Manuscript to be Digitised

DREAMSEA – Indramayu, Preservation of manuscripts as cultural heritage through the transfer of digital media continues to Indramayu. In collaboration with Sanggar Aksara Jawa Kidang Pananjung (SAJA) is currently digitising a 6.5 meter long daluwang manuscript stored in the ancient site of Geusan Ulun in Indramayu, Indonesia. “This manuscript contains a local history genealogy written in Javanese in pegon script,” said Ray Mengku Sutentra, the leader of SAJA. Digitising Manuscripts, Giving a Boost to Reconstruct Local History in Kuningan

Kuningan, DREAMSEA – The manuscript digitisation mission is still in progress. The DREAMSEA team is currently digitising five manuscript collections in Kuningan, West Java, Indonesia. This mission began on 7 September 2018, members of Masyarakat Pernaskahan Nusantara (Manassa) are very much involved in carrying out the mission that targets to digitise approximately 7,000 pages from 30 bundles of manuscripts. The collections are kept in three different places in the city of Kuningan; namely Lengkong, Windujanten, and Timbang.
